Chalazion<\/h2>\n

De term chalazion<\/strong> verwijst naar een ontsteking van het ooglid en een cystevorming van de Meibomklieren. Het verschijnt als een bultje onder de huid dat onaangename pijn kan veroorzaken bij elke pati\u00ebnt die aan deze aandoening lijdt. Het ontstaat door verstopping van het kleine kanaaltje dat verantwoordelijk is voor de afvoer van de Meibomklier.<\/p>\n

De behandeling van een chalazion, die thuis kan worden uitgevoerd, moet snel door de pati\u00ebnt worden uitgevoerd om te voorkomen dat de chalazion zich tot een cyste ontwikkelt. Hiervoor wordt aangeraden om gedurende ongeveer twintig minuten warmte toe te passen (bijvoorbeeld met warme kompressen of een washandje) om de afgesloten klieren vloeibaar te maken. Om de aandoening te behandelen, kan de arts een zalf met een ontstekingsremmer en een antibioticum voorschrijven.
